I create symbolic abstract paintings that explore the ways we feel, perceive, and make sense of our emotional lives.
This is your personal invitation to recognize something familiar, consider another perspective, and remember that feeling deeply doesn’t mean you’re broken. 💜
Sometimes a painting offers a place to recognize what you have not been able to explain. And from there, a different perspective might become possible.
I do want you to know that there is absolutely zero pressure to turn suffering into a lesson, and no promise that a new perspective will make the pain disappear.
However, through Lumeraine (from the Italian for light and the English for rain), I make fine art that stays with the complexity of being human while leaving the door cracked a bit for hope.
Regardless of where these land, I truly wish you well.

Hi! Ashleigh Nicholle Green here, the fine artist behind Lumeraine Studios. I create symbolic abstract pastel paintings because I have to.
………
Haha seriously though! This is my soul's work. Through my background with a BA in Psychology and extensive lived experience with mental health challenges in both myself and loved ones, I have taught myself to use vivid colors, recurring forms, and symbolism to not only carry meaning to the viewer, but to also encourage a second look.
These second looks offer reframes that have made a difference in my own life. While I make no promises, and I do everything I can to shy away from toxic positivity, I have personally found that you never know what relief may come from unexpected reframes.
My art is for you if you've suffered from deep pain. My art is for you if you're suffering now. My art is for you if you have a loved one suffering and you struggle to understand or relate. My art is even for you if your eyes simply can't stop dancing to the vivid color.
Overall, my art is here to offer recognition or another perspective, invite curiosity, or even - and I hope most of all - offer a little smidgen of hope.
If my art is for you, I suggest you join the free Lumeraine Letters subscription below. I share behind-the-scenes peeks from my studio, including new art, challenging reframes, early access to purchase limited edition prints, Lumeraine news (for example, exhibit announcements(!)), and other tidbits that I hope bring even the slightest lift to your day.
My favorite reframe in my life is of the silly variety: Any time Adam (my amazingly patient partner of 17 years) and I take a wrong turn or get lost, we celebrate by cheering, "yaaaay we're going on an adventure!" (and that's not a "yaaaaay" of the Monty Python variety, either 😂)
Finally, if you're obsessed with purple, we may just become best buds for life.
I'm genuinely glad you're here, and I do hope you'll stay awhile 💜
